Message from John Ward to all members of the Harborne Heartbeat Cardiac Rehab Exercise Group.
I sincerely hope that you keep well and that you are coping with these strange and difficult times. Although I am missing my Monday morning sessions with Chad and the rest of our happy group I have tried to keep fit by following some of our exercises in my back garden most evenings (weather permitting). I have to say that my wife has been most helpful in encouraging me and joining in the exercises. Leni was a regular member of the group when the class started up 6 years ago when we were desperate for enough paying members!
It has been a long time since our last session on March 16 and still there is no hint of when we might be able to resume our activities. However, we most certainly do intend to restart as soon as it is safe to do so. I have been giving some thought as to how we could start up. For example could we operate while conforming to the 2 metre rule? -Possibly. Could we devise a session which would involve no one touching any equipment, unless they brought their own. – Definitely.
Obviously we need to take advice from the experts but I am keen that we should get things going as soon as we can, even if that is several weeks or even months away. It could be that we cannot start up as soon as the Hall is able to open because of the nature of our class.
As soon as we are ready I will let everyone know and, in this respect, if you have an email address which is not already known to me please let me have your details. This will make it much easier to advise everyone quickly. Also I can pass on any other information which might be relevant before the start up date is known.
I send my very best wishes to everyone and I hope that we shall be exercising together sooner rather than later.
